Two brothers’, Jordan and Joseph, had a dream to create a custom jewelry store. They had training, some experience, and a dream to make custom jewelry accessible to their community. So together with their mother, they opened their store in downtown Excelsior Springs, Missouri.
Today, Sturm Brothers’ employs 7 dedicated team members and offers a full range of jewelry creation and repair services. The entire team believes,

Mrs. TJ Sturm
Director of Operations & Appraiser
TJ Sturm is the cofounder of Sturm Brothers’. She trained as a secondary teacher and taught in public school while her children were young. She later used her teaching degree to educate her own children at home and ran businesses with her husband, Tim. TJ loves to garden, cook and read to unwind. She volunteers with the Downtown Excelsior Partnership and as a Financial Peace Coordinator.
When at Sturm Brothers’, she helps customers on the sales floor, assists them with their custom projects, and appraises jewelry.
Jordan Sturm
Bench Jeweler & Production Coordinator
Jordan Sturm is also a founding team member of Sturm Brothers’ & a minority owner. He is a trained bench jeweler, who attended New Approach School for Jewelers in Tennessee. Jordan received a diploma from the Graduate Bench Jeweler Program. Jordan manages and produces all the client’s custom jewelry projects, taking their projects from printing the CAD files through stone setting.
When away from his bench and the jewelry store, he enjoys the outdoors, hiking with his wife and their German Shepherd. Jordan edits video in his free time & is an active member of his church’s men’s group.
Libby Sturm
Marketing & Sales Coordinator
Libby Sturm is the creative spark and driving force that keeps our customers “in the loop”. She manages the social media account and designs our print marketing. Those beautiful displays in the windows and the showcases, those are Libby’s handiwork too. Libby assists the customers with their design dreams and helps diagnose their repairs.
Away from the jewelry store, Libby puts her LPN training to work, serving her community. In her downtime, she enjoys reading, walking her dogs and gardening. She is a Connect Volunteer for Operation Christmas Child and runs an area drop off location.
James Sturm
General Manager
James Sturm is a 2020 graduate of UMKC’s Block School of Management. He holds a BBA with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship & Innovative Management. James joined Team Sturm Brothers’ in 2023 to manage the financial side of the jewelry business.
Away from his desk, James is continuing his education. He’s begun the MBA program at UMKC. He is actively involved with his family and his church. He too enjoys walking his dogs with his wife Libby.
Megan Sturm
Jewelry Designer & CAD Team Member
Megan Sturm is the creator of many original jewelry pieces found in the Sturm Brothers’ showroom. She has an innate gift for beauty and balance. Megan fell in love with the jewelry industry when she met her future husband, Joseph Sturm. Currently, Megan works remotely.
Megan spends the majority of her time caring for their baby, Jolee. Jolee is the newest member of the Sturm Brothers’ family. Cake decorating and quilting are just two of Megan’s favorite hobbies.
Joseph Sturm
Certified Jewelry CAD Designer
Joseph Sturm is a founding member of Sturm Brothers’ Custom Design & Fine Jewelry. Joseph has an Associate of Arts Degree from the Kansas City Metropolitan Community College and a MatrixGold Artisan Certification. Joseph is currently serving in the United States Army.
Joseph splits his waking hours between the United States Army, spending time with his wife, Megan, daughter, Jolee, and Emma the family dachshund, and creating jewelry CAD files for Sturm Brothers’ custom jewelry pieces.
